Modulo as a Filler | NMC Namibia for Town Lodge
The Geoplast Namibia team worked with Windhoek Consulting Engineers (WCE) and NMC Namibia on the extension of Town Lodge, in Grove Mall, Olympia.
Modulo permanent formwork is fully walkable.
There was a 633mm level difference between the existing concrete transfer slab and the hotel first-floor slab. Instead of casting a full concrete slab or using alternative material infill, Modulo was used as a filler for the following reasons:
- its structural attributes
- ease and speed of installation
- reduced cost compared to other permanent formwork or infill material
- Modulo offers an efficient void space for services installation
Casting Modulo at NMC site
Two separate heights were specified for this project, Modulo H55 and H45 to create 75m² elevated concrete slab.
Services are easily installed thanks to the crawl space beneath Modulo
