TYGERBERG UNIVERSITY CAMPUS| LIBRARY ALTERATIONS
Cobute had the pleasure to supply its slab system for the realization of a ramp at Tygerberg Campus from University of Stellenbosch, as part of its refurbishment designed Roelof Rabe Architects .
The architects raised the existing concrete floor by 650 and 350mm to install a ramp in the Library. Both Modulo (H30) and New Elevetor were used in the two sections, joined by a ramp created with Cobute's rib and panel system, as per the Engineer's sketch below. The systems matched the Architects' requirement for lightness and compliance with fire legislations.
Both systems allowed for easy installation of electrical services before the casting took place.
