Cobute supplied its decking system, beam-in-slab and edge ribs for this residential project designed by Pr. Engineer Ugo Rivera and installed by Paddy Hall Builders.

The elements of the Cobute precast slab are light and easy to manoeuvre.

The elements of the Cobute precast slab are light and easy to manoeuvre.

The Cobute decking system consists of precast ribs, manufactured according to Engineers' specifications, interlocking panels and polystyrene blocks, delivered to site cut to dimensions, with no waste. The use of polystyrene brings about dramatic reduction in concrete consumption as well as ensuring the light weight of the slab on the structure, weighting only 97kg per sqm.

Polystyrene blocks create a void that makes the system one of the lightest on the market.

Edge ribs are manufactured as ribs with an edge shutters, to avoid shuttering the perimeter ribs on site, while beams-in-slab consist of double ribs to support walls above the decking, instead of panels.
